The Public Chairs’ Forum (PCF) exists to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of public services in the United Kingdom. The Forum is a member led, exclusive information sharing and networking resource for chairs of public bodies.

“The PCF is making a real and positive difference to the delivery of public services in this country.

“The Coalition Government has outlined its commitment to reforming Arms Length Bodies (ALB’s) and to significant reductions in the amount of money spent on public services.  They want to see major improvements to transparency, accountability and efficiency.

“Chairs of ALB’s have a unique and important contribution to make to these reforms; their relative independence allows them to look objectively at what could and should change.

“ By working together through the PCF, we can improve the performance of our own organisations and influence the way public services are developed and delivered for the future”

Christopher N. Banks CBE, Chair, Public Chairs’ Forum and Directgov

‘Over the next few years public services will clearly face a major set of challenges: a much tougher financial environment; and a range of new economic and social needs and opportunities following the recession. I think that the PCF can make an enormous contribution to helping address these challenges by facilitating the sharing of responses between Chairs and by helping inform Government. I very much hope that all Chairs of NDPBs will consider joining the PCF if they are not already involved.’
